Autonomous Learning Agent System for Spacecraft Telemetry Processing
نویسندگان
چکیده
Automation of spacecraft operations can provide a substantial reduction in ground support and program costs. Here, we develop an autonomous spacecraft telemetry processing system consisting of an off-line architecture for the generation and analysis of learned patterns in the telemetry stream and an on-line mechanism for automated event and alert notification. Our system draws on the embedded knowledge, inferencing power, and learning and adaptability of intelligent software agents.

Flight Software Issues in Onboard Automated Planning: Lessons Learned on EO-1
Planning and scheduling systems for spacecraft operations have traditionally been an important step in the ground operations of mission planners. In the Autonomous Sciencecraft Experiment (ASE), this step is moved onboard the Earth Observing-1 spacecraft. The ASE features several advanced technologies: onboard image processing, a robust execution engine, and onboard planning and scheduling. Thi...
متن کامل1. Identification And Significance Of The Problem
Ground operations stipulate significant program costs and manpower requirements for both commercial and military satellite systems. Spacecraft manufacturers and government agencies are constantly seeking methods to ameliorate these aspects of spacecraft command and control operations in light of budgetary constraints. Recent efforts to address this problem have seen a rise in the application of...
متن کاملNESTA: NASA Engineering Shuttle Telemetry Agent
The Spaceport Processing Systems Branch at NASA Kennedy Space Center has developed and deployed an agent based tool to monitor the Space Shuttle’s ground processing telemetry stream. The application, the NASA Engineering Shuttle Telemetry Agent, increases situational awareness for system and hardware engineers during ground processing of the Shuttle’s subsystems. The agent provides autonomous m...

The workstation, minicomputer, and microcomputer marketplaces have been revolutionized in the past decade by systems that are both open and distributed. As a leader in this revolution, the Naval Research Laboratory’s (NRL) Naval Center for Space Technology (NCST), has been employing reusable software components to build a series of test beds, test and checkout systems for satellite assembly lin...
متن کاملCreating Situational Awareness in Spacecraft Operations with the Machine Learning Approach
This paper presents a machine learning approach for the situational awareness capability in spacecraft operations. There are two types of time dependent data patterns for spacecraft datasets: the absolute time pattern (ATP) and the relative time pattern (RTP). The machine learning captures the data patterns of the satellite datasets through the data training during the normal operations, which ...
